Steve Jobs Speech Response The message in Steve Jobs’ speech at Stanford University is to never give up hope on yourself. In his speech he says to love what you do. By that he means to like what job and life you have. If you don’t like what you do for a living, you will never try your hardest on that job you have. That’s giving up. If you think something can’t get any worse, just think that it can always be worse. Another point that he talked about is that “Death is the best thing that can happen.” –Steve Jobs. When I thought of his quote, one thing came up to me. Every day, think to yourself that today is your last day. Because you don’t want to have the worst, “last day”, of course you’re going to try to do the best you can at everything because you don’t want to die unhappy. With this quote in your head, you will always try your best and never give up. Finally, he says to stay hungry, stay foolish. By stay hungry, he means to want more, more out of your own work, from others work, and a better job. To get elected president of your job. Even if you are the best one out of your colleagues, you should always try to do better. When foolish pops into your mind, what do you think of? You probably think of when you were young, with your brothers and sisters. You were probably always foolish with them. And you got punished. Therefore you never did what you did then ever again. Steve Jobs means to learn from your mistakes, and to always make mistakes. If you never made mistakes, you would never learn how to do it the right way. For all these points that Steve Jobs said, I think he is very right in what he said. His speech inspired me a lot.
Steve Jobs Thesis- Life has un expected ups and downs you never know when it’s going to break through
Steve Jobs was the founder of Apple and Pixar. He had many unexpected ups and downs in his life. Here are some of his stories.
Steve dropped out of Reed college after the first 6 months but he stayed as a drop in for the next 18. It was pretty scary at the time but looking back it was one of the best decisions he ever made. He dropped in a class called calligraphy instruction. He thought that this knowledge wouldn’t be useful in his life. But 10 years after he dropped out of college him and Waz designed the first Macintosh computer and it all came back to him. They designed it all in the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. As Steve would say, “you cant connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards.
Was and Steve sd5arted apple in his parents garage when Steve was 20. In 10 years apple grew to a 2 billion dollar company. When Steve turned 30 he got fired from a company he started. During the next 5 years he started a company called Pixar Animation Studio. After that he got rehired to apple. “ Love what you do and if you haven’t found it yet don’t settle.”
When Steve was 17 he red a quote that went like this, “If you live each day as if it were your last then someday you will most certainly be right.” About a year past from 2005 Steve was diagnosed with cancer in his pancreas. It was almost certain that it could not be cured. Luckily he had a rare kind that could be cured with surgery. Therefore he lived.
“Your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” Overall life has unexpected ups and downs you never know when its going to break through.
Never give up on what you want to do/ your dreams Steve Jobs was an amazing man who conquered every negative obstacle that came towards him. After six months in college he did not see the value in the classes he was taking because he had no idea what he wanted to do in life. Before dropping out, for 18 months he took some classes he did see value in, such as calligraphy, which he used in creating Apple. When Steve Jobs was thirty, he was fired from Apple, his own company. Following his own advice, “stay hungry, stay foolish” he created Next and Pixar. When Apple later bought Next, he then had the opportunity to keep doing what he loved to do. While Steve Jobs was working for Apple, he got sick with cancer that was proven incurable. Even so he did not give up and made the doctors check again; the doctors where wrong. It turned out to be a different cancer that was curable, then he got surgery and the cancer was gone. They are many of the reasons Steve Jobs was a was an amazing man.
In 2005 Steve Jobs made a very memorable speech at Stanford University. I think that the message that he was trying to put out was to live the life that you want to live.
Steve Jobs believed that you should do what you love to do. If you do something in the future that you love you are more likely to be happy and successful. For me its easier to do well on assignments that interest me. As Steve Jobs said "Don't settle on a job that you don't love."
"You can't connect the dots looking forward but only looking backward."Steve Jobs never knew he was going to drop out of University or get fired from Apple or even invent Pixar and Next, but he still became very successful. He never thought you should stress about the things that will happen or that already happened instead live now the best you can.
Steve Jobs tol the graduates to " Stay hungry, Stay Foolish". His message was to take risks and not be afraid to make mistakes. You can't be your best without taking risks. If your willing to take risks and challenges you life will be more fulfilled.
I think that Steve Jobs message to the Stanford graduates was very helpful and meaningful. He's encouraging people to be happy and follow your dreams.
The way I see it, Steve Jobs life was a bit plain but also a pretty amazing life. He had 3 stories to tell about his amazing journey, but, the main idea I understood was “live every day like it’s your last because you know when it’s going to end.” This quote was very inspiring to me. When you are living your life, do you want to think back at your self-watching TV, and playing video games all day or thinking about having a great and life going to college, having a family, and a successful job. In other words to have fun in life, be active and love the life you are living. Another point is to never give up in life. When Steve jobs dropped out of college he never gave up on life, he moved forward and many great things came such as the creation of Apple, Next, and Pixar. If he didn’t drop out of college none of this advanced technology would have happened. Another point he was trying to make is to pursue with great energy an area that you have great interest in. This means that if you really have an interest for a subject e.g. Science technology then go for it and give it you’re all. In conclusion Steve Job’s speech encourages us to live life to the fullest and make it last. Nicholas Ward
Steve Jobs did an amazing speech in 2005, and I think that he was trying to say that sometimes life can be hard, but trust that everything will turn out amazing.
When Steve Jobs trusted what he hoped to result in, he got it. When he dropped out of college, he started apple, which is now a very successful company. Eventually he was fired from apple, and he didn’t know what to do. But after a while, he started 2 other companies, Pixar and Next. Pixar is also another very famous company, which is also very successful. Next was bought by apple, and he got back into apple. He got lucky, and when bad luck approached him, he just went right through it. He was approached by bad luck again one day, and got cancer. They said it was almost incurable, and wasn’t expected to live losing. But he did beat the cancer; he yet again passed the bad luck, from hoping it would all be ok. He said “Your time is limited so don’t spend it living someone else’s life”. You shouldn’t waste your time thinking of what others think, or the bad side of things, you should trust what’s going to happen and enjoy life while you have it, even when things are going terrible.
I also think Steve was trying to say live each day in life to the fullest, and every day you should spend your time well because one day your time will end. Like Steve Jobs said, “Live life like it’s your last day”. I think he means to spend your time being happy, and enjoying your life while you have it. You don’t want to spend life being bored, and being lazy. Like he said, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”.
That is what I think Steve Jobs was trying to say, life can be hard, but trust that everything will turn out amazing.
In the video, Steve Jobs talks at Stanford university about how he became the founder of several really big and rich companies and also tell three stories about his life. Steve started Apple in his parents garage when Steve was 20. In 10 years apple grew to a 2 billion dollar company. He explains that sometimes you have to slow down and think about what you would want to do if this was your last day of life. “Your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” Would you like to do what you are doing? Would you fell comfortable dying knowing you did what you wanted to do and did? Steve jobs made it so far in life because he thought about that question, and loved what he did. Steve jobs also would not have been able to do this without a few things that happened in his life even thou he did not know they would happen”you can not connect the dots looking forward only backwards”. If you spend every day like it was your last your life will be great and really nice. Steve Jobs never gave up even when he got fired from the company he started/founded because he really loved what he was doing.“ Love what you do and if you haven’t found it yet don’t settle.” Instead of giving up he started new company called Pixar Animation Studio and eventually got rehired to his old job. These are a few things that he said.
Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2011 After listening to Steve Jobs speech, I think that the message that he was implying is that you should live your life to the fullest. His first story was about how he never graduated from college, and how this greatly affected his life. He found the classes mandatory to take were uninteresting, and felt that his adoptive parents should not have to waste so much money on him if he wasn’t fully committed. He decided to drop out after only six months in order to take the opportunity to drop in on some classes that he found fascinating, while skipping the ones he found boring. One of the classes he decided to drop in on was a calligraphy class which inspired him to create a computer program in which you could use different typography. This further inspired him to create the Mac, earning him millions of dollars. If he had decided to stay in college, not living his life to what he felt was the fullest, he never would have started Apple and became the successful man he is today. At the end of this story he commented that “you cannot connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking back”, meaning that you have no idea which decisions will have the biggest impacts on your life. There is no way of telling the future, but you can look back at the past and remember which decisions or actions changes your life, either for the better or for the worst. His second story was about failure and despair. It was about the day he got fired from the company that he had created- Apple. A company that Steve Jobs had built his whole adult life around, not to mention his main source of income. After getting into a fight with someone he himself had hired as co-director, he was upset to find out that he was to be fired whereas the other man would stay and take over for him. Though he was beyond devastated, he still decided to follow his advice to “stay hungry and stay foolish”. Instead of doing nothing with his life and continue to sulk, he decided to make the best of things and live life to the fullest. He could now start with a fresh plate and by doing so he created Pixar and another company called Next, earning him even more millions of dollars. And even better, Apple decided to buy him back making him the founder and owner of three huge companies! His third and final story was probably the most touching and memorable. When his life seemed to be perfect (he was back at Apple and had founded two other companies, he had a wife and children, and seemed to be at a key point in his career), he was hit with shattering news; that he had pancreas cancer and only had 4-6 months to live. Remembering a quote he had once heard “Live everyday like it’s you last and someday you’ll be right”, he decided to live his last six months to the fullest. Looking at life with a positive attitude despite his condition he went to a doctor’s appointment only to find out that his type of cancer was very rare- and curable with surgery. After surviving such a life-threating situation he realized “time is limited, so don’t waste yours trying to live someone else’s life”. In conclusion, Steve Jobs’ message to the Stanford graduate students was that they shouldn’t waste time doing something they aren’t passionate about. They should live their life to the fullest by filling it with things they love and really just be happy because life on earth is not forever, so they should really just try to make the best of it. Take chances, make mistakes, and most importantly just live life in the best ways possible.
Steve Jobs Thesis-Always live life to the fullest.
Steve jobs was the founder and CEO of Apple and Pixar, two extremely successful companies. This is one of the smartest men an one of the wealthiest in the world before he past. Here are some of his story's.
Steve Jobs gave a commencement speech at Stanford University where he shared some stories about his life. He spoke about how he made choices in his life that led him on a successful path, even though he didn't know what that path would be. His stories were about following your dreams and what you are passionate about and that if you do that, you will be a happy person because you will love what your are doing. And that it will never really be work for you.
He shared how sometimes something that seems bad at the time can actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Like getting fired from his job at Apple. He started the company but eventually he was fired and he had to start all over again. But starting over made him remember how much he liked to create and build things and he found himself liking his life a lot more than he had when was running a big company that he didn't own anymore. Then he sold that company to Apple and started working there again but under his rules. He grew Apple to be one of the greatest companies in the world as well as Pixar Studios. So something good can definitely come from something that seems bad, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.
He also talked about how decisions that you make today will impact your future, even if you don't know how today. He dropped out of college and took courses that he was actually interested in which led him to learning how to design, which he later used in making Apple computers. And it was this design that made Apple computers so successful.
The last story was about how you should live life to the fullest, like everyday was going to be your last. And by asking yourself if that is how you would like to spend your last day you will be able to tell if you are doing what you are meant to do. He said that if you take risks and follow your dreams, and keep at it even if things aren't going your way, you will eventually be successful.
I think that Steve Jobs was saying that life is unexpected, so just do what you think is best and take it as it comes. His parents wanted him to go to college. He chose a very expensive university, but didn’t enjoy it very much. After a few months, he dropped out because he was spending a lot of his parent’s money on something he didn’t enjoy. After he dropped out, he went into some courses that weren’t necessary like calligraphy. He was happy and spent over a year popping into classes like that. A while like that and he stopped and started Apple with his friend in a garage. It became very successful, with beautiful typing and fonts. That shows that even though for a while he was homeless and hungry, it ended up helping him in life by giving him the chance to learn things he never would have learned if he had kept going. These unusual skills helped him life in ways he might never have imagined. After working at Apple for a very long time, he got fired. This caused a lot of problems, but it also gave him new freedom. He helped start two new companies. Both are successful. Eventually one of these companies was bought by Apple, so ironically he got back to working at Apple. He was fired, and some might act like their life is ruined if they get fired from a company that they started. He instead picked himself, made the best of it, and he got more out of it than he expected. A while later, he was diagnosed with cancer in his pancreas. The doctor said that was most likely a type that thy have no cure for. A while before, he had seen a quote that said “If you live everyday like it’s your last, than some day you will be right.” That quote was now a literal thing. He had another test and it turned out that they had a cure for the type of cancer that he had. He didn’t freak out (well, at least not externally) and it turned out fine. You just have to trust that it will turn out fine. There is a quote; “Stay hungry, stay foolish.” I think that is a great quote. It’s telling you that you shouldn’t always be reasonable, or you will miss out on great opportunities. Also, you shouldn’t settle on anything, always strive for more. Life is unexpected, but do your best, take it as it comes, trust it will turn out for good, and always strive for more.
Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005 By: Isabel Armiento
I think that the message Steve Jobs was trying to get across is that if you truly follow your heart and do what you love, your life will all work out in the end. He was a firm believer in staying true to one’s self. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss my proof that this is the moral of Steve Job’s commencement speech in further detail. My first point is derived from Steve Jobs talking about his theory of “connecting the dots”. He stated, “It was impossible to connect the dots looking forwards…but it was very, very clear looking backwards”. By this phrase, he meant that sometimes you just have to do what seems right for you at the time and have faith that it will all work out in the end. Almost everything in life (especially successes) can be linked to something you have previously done. The following is an example of this theory. Steve Jobs dropped out of college because it didn’t feel right for him, and because he was not passionate at all about the mandatory classes. When he dropped out, he was free to take whatever classes interested him, so he took a calligraphy class. About 10 years later, while he was designing the Macintosh computer, he integrated the beautiful calligraphy he learned about into his program by providing innovative typography. If Steve Jobs had not quit college (a challenging decision) and taken that calligraphy class, our computers today may not have beautiful and diverse typography. Doing what felt right for him lead Steve Jobs down the path to great success. The next main idea in his speech is that you should always do what you love. Steve Jobs was fired from his own company, Macintosh, and rejection left him devastated and lost. However he realized “I still loved what I did…I’d been rejected, but I was still in love.” Suddenly he felt free, and once again pursued his dream, which lead him to create Pixar and Next, bringing him to further success. He didn’t’ let disappointment bring him down; instead he followed his passion, and through it, became successful and happy with life. Getting fired was “awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it.” Every day, Steve Job's asked himself: "if today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" The answer shouldn't be no for a long period of time, because this shows that you are not enjoying life to it's fullest. "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's dream." This is saying that life is short, and you should spend it doing what you love, not what someone else wants you to do. You don't get a second shot at life so you should enjoy it. Passion is the key to inspiration, and inspiration is the key to success, so in my opinion, you are much more likely to succeed while doing something you love. In conclusion, I think that the quote that fully sums up Steve Jobs’ message is "stay hungry, stay foolish". This quote means that you should take risks and always strive for more. Don’t over-think things, it only leads to second guessing yourself. Live life on the edge. If you have a passion, go for it. You never know when life will take a turn for the worse, so enjoy life to it's absolute fullest and you will have no regrets.
Steve Jobs Standford Commencement 2005: Follow Your Heart
In Steve Jobs commencement speech, the underlying message he gave, in my opinion, would be to follow your heart in everything you do. He demonstrated this message by giving three stories, all of which talked about following your heart. In his first story, Steve talked about how he decided to drop out of college because he couldn’t find love in the courses he was required to take. By doing this, he could then drop in on courses he was interested in. He dropped in on a calligraphy class that had ``beautiful typography``, which he later incorporated in the Macintosh, Apple`s first computer. In the second story, we learn that Steve was fired from a company that he created. Although this might discourage some people, he decided to start over, which turned into one of the most creative periods of his life. This happened because he said he was still in love with what he was doing. ``When you`re hit in the head with a brick, don’t lose faith.`` Again, this further re-enforces his theme of following your heart, not settling for anything, and to find what you love. In his third story, Steve ironically talks about death. He says to himself every morning, : ``If today was the last day of my life, would I want to do what to do what I’m about to do today?`` If the answer was no, he knew it was time to change things. Thinking about death everyday reminded him that we are all going to die one day. It is unavoidable. Therefore, we should follow our hearts, for time is limited, and while we are alive, we should ``Stay hungry, Stay foolish.`` I think that this last quote Steve made concludes his thoughts on following your dream, and by doing this, you will find happiness. In conclusion, Steve Jobs tells the graduates through these three stories that you should live your own life, not someone else`s, and follow your heart. Unfortunately, Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer at age 55.
Steve Jobs shares three personal stories in his Commencement speech for the 2005 graduating class of Stanford University. Each story has a very meaningful message. He conveys that trusting what you believe in and loving what you do are the keys to overcoming obstacles and achieving success. He believed in not settling in life. He understood the limitations of time and having the strength to follow your heart and intuition.
Steve Jobs had no idea what he wanted to do with his life and wasn’t sure how he would figure it out. He trusted that everything would work out. When he dropped out of college, he realized later in life, that “looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made.” He was able to take courses that interested him which helped him many years later when designing the Macintosh computer. He refers to this time in his life as “connecting the dots.” You can connect the dots looking back at your life and discover that things connect or happen for a reason. He believed that “you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” I think life is like a puzzle and you discover where each piece fits.
Steve Jobs was very lucky that he found what he loved to do at a very young age. He worked very hard at building a company that only started with two people and grew to over four thousand employees. Unfortunately, he got fired from his own company and he was devastated. He felt like giving up but he realized that despite what had happened, he still loved what he did. He says, “the turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.” Steve believed in not settling and not to lose faith. It’s important to keep moving forward and one day you’ll find what makes you happy.
The saddest part of Steve’s life was when he was diagnosed with cancer. One of his favourite quotes that left an impression on him was “If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” This made him think of the things he wanted to do each day. Life is too short and it should be lived to the fullest, doing things that make you happy. He says, “You’re time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” It’s important to follow your heart regardless of other people’s opinions. Your heart truly knows what it wants to become.
It’s truly important to understand that life has an end for all of us and to remember that you have nothing to lose. It’s OK to take risks and work hard at what you enjoy doing and believe in. Steve’s says in his last quote in the speech, “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.” I believe he meant to never lose your drive and passion to find what truly makes you happy and successful while enjoying yourself at the same time.
I was incredibly moved after watching the video of Steve Jobs’ commencement speech at Stanford University. First of all, I learned many things about Steve Jobs that I never knew, but more importantly he told some incredible stories. I believe the main idea he was trying to get across in his stories was do what you love and never settle for anything less. The way I got this in the first story was when he said “The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn’t interest me and begin dropping in on the ones that looked far more interesting.” This shows that by dropping out he could go to the classes that he really enjoyed rather than the required ones. By dropping out he was not settling for less than what he loved. The main idea came across in the second story when he said “But something slowly began to dawn on me. I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple hadn’t changed that one bit. I had been rejected but I was still in love.” This shows that even if you’re not working at your first choice of company, as long as you’re doing what you love, you’ll still enjoy it. Finally he showed this in the third story when he said “I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself. If today were the last day of my life, would I want to be doing what I am about to do today? And whenever the answer has been no for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” This shows it because if it was the last day of your life you would want to do something you really love, not something that bores you. In conclusion, the three points I have just stated is the reason I think Steve Jobs’ main message was that you need to find what you love and don’t settle for anything less. By: Luke Vendittelli
The Steve jobs speech was very inspiring. I liked the speech a lot, the quotes and three stories were well worded.it is unbelievable how in one of his stories how he was a pennyless drop-out then he grows up to be a billionaire. I mean what are the oddsof that? The main idea from the whole speech is " don't live your life in someone elses." I think that quote means that you shouldn't go and spend your life doing something you don't want to do, you have to live your life to the fullest. From the first story the main quote is you can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. What I think that means is that the only way to get better in the future is do well in the past. The main idea for the second story is "sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. What I think that means is life can be very hard sometimes. The main idea for the third and final story is "stay hungry stay foolish." what I think that quote means is make mistakes and you can probably get rewards out of that. To conclude this response I would like to say that the main idea for this whole speech is that dont live your life in someone else.
Steve jobs Stanford commencement 2005 The message of Steve jobs speech was to never give up in life and find what you love to do. If you never give up in life you will go far, but if you give up and stay in one place you will not go anywhere. In life you have to find what you love to do, so you're not going to work everyday hating your job and only working for the money. You have to find something you love to do because finding something you love to do will keep a positive attitude in your system and will help you through many situations better. One other message he was trying to make is that you can do anything you set your mind too. Steve was broke and had dropped out of college, but he aimed high in life and that's why he is the owner of a 341.1 billion dollar company now. He set his mind to achieving a goal, and got more than he bargained for. One of the biggest message in the speech was to "never live someone elses life" When he says that he means to never let anyone change the way you live or act. If you stick to your heart in life it will lead you to many great accomplishments. My favourite quote of the speech was "stay hungry stay foolish" This quote means to keep making mistakes, because how many times you fail is always how many times you succeed. The conclusion for this speech is too keep making mistakes, find what you love to do and put your mind on your goals.
Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, Next and Pixar, gave an inspiring speech at the Stanford graduation of 2005. His point that he was trying to get across was: Live your life the way you want to, not the way people tell you to. For example, he said that if today was your last day on earth, would you want to spend it doing this? And if the answer was no, he said it wasn’t worth doing. This means that if someone told you t do something and you died right after it was done, you wouldn’t have gotten to spend your last day doing something you wanted, and he applies this to your whole life. You only live once, right? He got the idea for this point from when he was diagnosed with cancer and was given only 6 months to live, and realised death is a big motivator, if you will. In another proof point that he brought up, from his first story, he said that if he hadn’t dropped out of university and went back as a drop in, the MAC would never have had beautiful typography, something that he learned from his drop in calligraphy class. If people had said to him “Don’t drop out!” and he did not, he would have never been able to drop in on that calligraphy class, and the MAC would not have been influenced by it. In the second story he told, it was about him being fired from Apple. He then followed the advice of Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish, and created two hugely successful companies, Next and Pixar. Then, in a random turn of events, Apple bought Next! This put him back onto the board of directors in Apple. If he had not stayed hungry and foolish, he wouldn’t have made millions of dollars through Next, Apple and Pixar.
Overall, Steve Job’s speech delivered a great message with some stories taken from his own life as proof for his thesis, and therefore proving my thesis as well. Remember to live your own life, and stay hungry and foolish.
Steve Jobs ( Ceo of Apple and Pixar Animations) attended Stanford University in the spring of 2005 to share to the soon to be graduates about some stories of his life and told them, don't settle keep looking.
Steve Jobs dropped out of college in the first six months and stayed around as a drop in for eighteen months. Why did he drop out? He couldn't see the value in it. When Steve Jobs dropped out he had to trust his gut that everything would work out ok and that sometime in his future the dots will connect. Steve Jobs recalls it being "pretty scary, but one of the best decisions of my life." Steve Jobs later took an amazing calligraphy class at Reed College , where he learned what makes great typography great. He used this calligraphy class for the most useful thing on the first Macintosh computer. If you cant see the value in something don't keep up with it. This is what Steve jobs did. He couldn't see the value in wasting his time at university because he didn't know what his future would turn out to be. If he didn't drop out of university he would have never dropped in on the calligraphy class and the start of apple wouldn't have occurred.
Can you ever get fired from your own company? Steve Jobs did. Woz and himself started apple in his parents garage when he was twenty . After ten years apple had grown from just two guys in a garage into a two-billion dollar company with over four thousand employees. As apple grew Steve Jobs hired someone who he thought was very talented to help run the company. It was smooth sailing for a year or so until both visions started to go separate ways. When this happened their board of director sided with his partner and Steve Jobs was out. He never gave up though. Sure he felt lost for a couple of months but when rejection hits you in the face it doesn't mean you have to stop what you love to do. Steve Jobs decided to start over. He created two new companies called Next (which was then bought by Apple) and Pixar Animations . He said " getting fired from apple was the best thing that ever happened to me." When you are in a situation like this the only thing that can pull you up from the ground is to find what you love and what you will love for years.
My conclusion for this summary of the Steve Jobs Presentation is "Stay hungry, Stay foolish." What this quote means to me is stay hungry meaning always have the curiosity for knowledge (to explore and to keep being hungry for more food for your brain) and stay foolish meaning think as if you don't know anything which will help you gather the knowledge. This is what I think is the main idea for this whole summary because Steve Jobs said to keep looking for something you love and you can find something in life that you want to stick to because you love it so much or you can find something new and learn to love that just like you will have to learn to stay hungry and stay foolish.
Well done everyone! You all have accurately summarized the supporting points of Steve's speech. Some of us still need to work to ensure that our support is connected back to an overall idea (thesis). John post was especially strong. You can refer to it if you wish. Way to go John!

ReplyDeleteThe message in Steve Jobs’ speech at Stanford University is to never give up hope on yourself.
Steve Jobs
ReplyDeleteThesis- Life has un expected ups and downs you never know when it’s going to break through
Steve Jobs was the founder of Apple and Pixar.
Never give up on what you want to do/ your dreams
ReplyDeleteSteve Jobs was an amazing man who conquered every negative obstacle that came towards him.
Steve Jos Commencement Speech 2005
ReplyDeleteIn 2005 Steve Jobs made a very memorable speech at Stanford University.
Steve Jobs Stanford Announcement ‘05
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, Steve Jobs life was a bit plain but also a pretty amazing life.

Steve Jobs did an amazing speech in 2005, and I think that he was trying to say that sometimes life can be hard, but trust that everything will turn out amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhen Steve Jobs trusted what he hoped to result in, he got it.
ReplyDeleteSteve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2011
ReplyDeleteAfter listening to Steve Jobs speech, I think that the message that he was implying is that you should live your life to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteSteve jobs was the founder and CEO of Apple and Pixar, two extremely successful companies.

Steve Jobs Response
ReplyDeleteI think that Steve Jobs was saying that life is unexpected, so just do what you think is best and take it as it comes.
Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005
ReplyDeleteBy: Isabel Armiento
Getting fired was “awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it.”
Every day, Steve Job's asked himself: "if today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" The answer shouldn't be no for a long period of time, because this shows that you are not enjoying life to it's fullest.
Steve Jobs Standford Commencement 2005:
ReplyDeleteFollow Your Heart
ReplyDeleteSteve Jobs had no idea what he wanted to do with his life and wasn’t sure how he would figure it out.
Steve Jobs’ Stanford Commencement Speech 2005
ReplyDeleteI was incredibly moved after watching the video of Steve Jobs’ commencement speech at Stanford University.

Steve jobs Stanford commencement 2005
ReplyDeleteThe Steve jobs speech was very inspiring.
Steve jobs Stanford commencement 2005
ReplyDeleteThe message of Steve jobs speech was to never give up in life and find what you love to do.
Steve Jobs Stanford Address 2005
ReplyDeleteSteve Jobs, founder of Apple, Next and Pixar, gave an inspiring speech at the Stanford graduation of 2005.
"Stay hungry, Stay foolish"
ReplyDeleteSteve Jobs ( Ceo of Apple and Pixar Animations) attended Stanford University in the spring of 2005 to share to the soon to be graduates about some stories of his life and told them, don't settle keep looking.
ReplyDeleteJohn post was especially strong. You can refer to it if you wish. Way to go John!
