I think a three way split class is not a good idea because it is hard for the teacher. First, intermediate subjects are more complicated and it takes teachers allot of time to fully explain them. Also, it takes a teacher’s time to correct three different kinds of tests or three different work sheets. Lastly it is difficult for the teacher to form a community when the students are all in different age groups and not necessarily comfortable with the kids in their class. Teacher’s need all of these aspects to teach successfully therefore three way split classes are a terrible idea.
When I heard about this article, I strongly believed that having 3 grades in one split class would be a very bad idea because it would be more stressful for the teacher and the students. For the teacher because instead of preparing a lesson, the teacher would have to prepare three lessons and then teach them. In addition, the teacher would be marking assignments for every subject and each grade. For the students, they would not have the teacher's attention to ask questions and comment on things because the teacher would always be busy teaching one of the other grades. For example, the grade 6's are getting a math lesson and a grade four student is having trouble with their math. so they could go ask other students, but the teacher would not be available if other students can't help. For these reasons I do not think that there should be 3 grades in one split class.
